It’s time to get curious and make a deliciously sweet and spicy Thai Pomelo Salad with us, Curious Elephant style. Salads come in so many different forms and we love salads that have a range of textures and layers of flavours in each bite. Pomelo is the largest variety of citrus fruit in the world. It tastes like a grapefruit but without the bitterness or sour notes. Also known as Yam Som O in its native Thailand, you can pair this sweet and spicy salad with any fish or chicken dish. It also makes a fantastic BBQ side.

Crispy, golden panko crumbed prawns sandwiched between fluffy slices of milk bread and a spicy cabbage salad. This is one of our all-time favourite dishes and is absolutely delicious. The secret to getting that bouncy prawn texture is by adding fish balls and blended prawns to the mixture.
It tastes SO DAMN GOOD with our Vietnamese Chilli Sauce, added Kewpie mayo and Tonkatsu sauce that you’ll never order this out again! You can also replace the prawns with chicken or pork if you prefer but don’t skip on the sauces. I know you will absolutely love this one.

We've used simple ingredients that you probably already have at home and it takes less than 8 minutes to cook.

This salad will blow you away with its taste bud-awakening flavours and variety of textures with green mango, coconut and our Malaysian Chilli Sambal. The texture of the green mango is crisp and crunchy, and the flavour is sweet but sour, a little like a green apple. It's just amazing when shredded and prepared in a salad like this.

One of the most exciting things about summer is the abundance sweet juicy mangoes we get flown in from India and Pakistan. We know there’s always a debate on which country has the best mangoes, so we will leave that for you to decide! You can make this flavour-bursting dish for dinner in an air fryer or bake it in the oven for your next dinner party. The mango salad gives such a summery refreshing bite to it.
A Curious twist on a classic prawn linguine because we love doing things differently here in the herd’s HQ. Have you ever tried mixing in our Vietnamese Chilli Sauce with pasta and coriander?! If you haven’t, then read on.
Now don’t be shy with the garlic, Vietnamese Chilli Sauce, salt and pepper as it’s essential to this dish’s flavour depth. We’ve air fried the cherry tomatoes using our favourite Pure Harvest tomatoes for the extra sweetness that comes through when you roast/air fry any veggie. As with all our recipes, adjust the chilli, salt and pepper levels according to your taste.

If you love Biang Biang spicy noodles then you’ll love this one! We’ve made it easier for you to cut the dough with scissors rather than hand pulling and stretching the noodles. We’ve taken inspiration from Red House Spice’s recipe, but our Chinese Chilli Oil takes it to the next level! This is a flavourful vegan dish made with just a few ingredients and can be served with our range of dumplings and some greens on the side.

The texture of our green beans is different than most steamed green beans you’ll find because they’re blistered in oil before the rest of the ingredients are added, leading to a tender, shrunken texture you'll love but can’t achieve with either boiling/steaming. Serve these as a side dish or with some rice and dumplings for a light lunch.
Forget Kentucky style! Salt and pepper fried chicken wings are a popular Chinese takeout option, typically seasoned with a mixture of salt, white pepper, and other spices, and then deep-fried until they are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
The dish is believed to have originated in southern China, where it is often served as a bar snack or appetizer. It has since become a staple of Chinese takeout menus around the world, thanks to its deliciously addictive flavor and crispy texture.
So next time you have the urge to order fried chicken delivery, recreate this dish at home with our simple recipe. When it tastes this good, there’s no need for dipping sauces as there’s already so much flavour from the marinate and spice - just drizzle our Chinese Chilli Oil over the top to add the final kick!
This is not your average omelette and we’ve made it a little more special with some Shaoxing wine (Chinese cooking wine), soy sauce and our Chinese Chilli Oil. Shaoxing wine is completely optional if you prefer this dish to be halal. This is a great meal when you don’t feel like cooking but also can’t decide what you feel like on Deliveroo!! The trick is to cook the eggs on a low and slow heat with some cornflour for a velvety and tender texture.

This is a dish that’s guaranteed to blow your socks off! Our super delicious and easy mid-week creamy shiitake mushroom udon noodles dish is inspired by Maru Udon Executive Chef Shinya’s own personal recipe using our Chinese Chilli Oil. There is so much flavour happening in this dish from the umami of the Below Farm Shiitake mushrooms and the dashi stock. To make this easy to cook at home, we have used Dashi powder instead of freshly made Dashi stock, but if you have time, fresh stock is always best (of course, Maru Udon uses fresh Dashi stock in their dishes)! We used freshly-made udon noodles from Maru Udon in our recipe and they are available across Maru Udon’s 3 branches
A quick and easy Shiitake Mushroom skewers recipe that’ll get all the attention at a BBQ with just some simple ingredients that you already have at home. We’ve added some extra roasted peanuts and spring onions for contrasting textures and flavours - of course with our Chinese Chilli Oil.

No elephants were harmed in this recipe! For those that are reading this, raising their eyebrows and wondering what on earth are Elephants In Blankets?! Well, we have created a Curious twist on the traditional Pigs In Blankets served in the UK and Ireland at Christmas lunch and often on Boxing Day. In the UK, they are traditionally pork sausages wrapped with bacon, or mini hot dog sausages wrapped in pastry in the US. Well, here at Curious Elephant HQ, our Elephants In Blankets are halal and made with tasty chicken sausages wrapped with quality veal bacon served with our Vietnamese Chilli Mayo combo - Yum!

Pimp it up with some veggies of your choice, a crispy sunny-side egg and our Curious Elephant premium dumplings. Spicy sesame noodles made in less than 10 minutes! Perfect on it’s own or as a side dish to accompany a main.
This nutty, savoury dish has a hint of sweetness and spiciness, balanced out with the black vinegar. In our variation, we topped it with sliced carrot, green onions, cucumber and toasted sesame seeds. You can also serve it with a side of fried tofu (vegetarian option), fried chicken marinated in five spice, sweet soy, salt, and coated in cornflour (salt, white pepper and garlic powder).
This is SO GOOD that you’ll thank us for it! We used white sweet potato, but it can be substituted with orange sweet potato or normal potato. We double fried this and coated it with seasoning for extra flavour and the Vietnamese Chilli Sauce & Mayo is just a winning combo together!
Chilli Mayo
Mix them both together and you can adjust the spice level according to your own preference.

Traditionally, sticky rice is soaked for around 8 hours and steamed in a bamboo steamer. Our version is cooked in a different way for those running short of time. Long beans can also be pan fried rather than fried with oil.
