This spicy, sweet Malaysian chilli sambal with a tinge of sourness will give a delicious umami essence to any rice dish, noodles, vegetables or even plain bread.
Known as the fifth core taste (added in 2002 alongside sweet, sour, bitter and salty), Umami is a Japanese term that literally translates as delicious ("umai") taste ("mi"), simplified in English as simply "savoriness". Umami has a mild but lasting aftertaste associated with salivation and a sensation of furriness on the tongue, stimulating the throat, the roof and the back of the mouth. And it is super addictive!
All of our sauces are made fresh with no added preservatives. Keep refrigerated at all times.
Shelf life: 10 weeks.
Ingredients: Dried Shrimp, Sunflower Oil, Red Chilli, Red Onion, Galangal, Garlic, Sugar, Lemongrass, Macadamia Nut, Tamarind, Shrimp Paste, Salt, Kaffir Lime. Contains fish products & nuts.
The chili sambal is incredible, and elevates any dish. Tastes great with rice, fried rice or even with chicken!

This stuff is so good! Delicious on it’s own and to use when cooking. Love it on the side of some white rice or for quick stir fries. Major umami vibes.
